In the village of Argol, in the centre of the Crozon peninsula, is a " craft museum" - in a hamlet of old houses,where you can see traditional crafts such as basketweaving, lace-making, rope-making, wool-spinning and clog making are practised.
Other heritage museums in the peninsula demonstrate school life, cider-making, pancake-making and study the many minerals to be found in the peninsula, much of which is of volcanic
In Camaret there is a small two-room museum of he history of the village and its fisheries, while in Ouessant there is another museum abut buoys and lighthouses
This area of North Finistere is known as the ‘Cote des Legendes’ and is steeped in folklore and history. On festive market days in Crozon you will find musicians,clad in traditional garments, mostly black with colorful embroidery, playing traditional Breton tunes. . If you get a chance attend a traditional "Fez Noz", usually held in the open on a balmy summers evening, where you will see, and may be able to join in with, the traditional folk dancing to the traditional music.
There are many fascinating churches to visit with colourful processions and fêtes in the summer months, as well as more than 50 prehistoric standing stones, and dozens of springs with alleged magical healing powers.
The Crozon peninsula still has a thriving seaweed industry. The local delicacy is ham smoked with seaweed, washed down with a seaweed beer.

The Armorique.Reginal Natural Park stretches from the picturesque Arree Mountains in the east to the wonderful beaches and coastal scenery of the the Crozon Peninsula to the west.
The Crozon Peninsula is relatively undiscovered by tourists. The French come in summer but it never gets that busy.
The peninsula is 30 kms by 10 kms. and the scenery changes from towering cliffs at Point Espangnois with its bracing walks to the 12 long beautiful sandy beaches which stretch for miles
There are numerous walks in forests & moors and 145kms.of coastal footpath.

Formally a fishing village, Morgat is now a small attractive seaside resort, with a fashionable marina, on the Crozan peninsula on the far North West corner of Brittany.
Its setting, amongst heather and broom covered cliffs, with fabulous sea views is hard to beat and it is a good base for exploring this lovely part of Brittany. As this is a peninsula you can experience both Atlantic surf beaches and calm coves for swimming as well as picturesque estuaries for sailing
Morgat has a magnificent cresent of pine fringed golden sand, with rocky outcrops. At low tide large rock pools form, where you can find sea stars, sea anemones, and where children, and adults can go crabbing. Explore the large caves in the cliffs exposed at low tide, or catch a boat from the quay side to visit the other grottoes, accessible only by sea.
The cliff walks are magnificent and the water is crystal clear.
There are many other lovely beaches nearby.
The Crozon peninsula has Atlantic-facing beaches for surfing as well as lots of sheltered beaches for swimming - some best reached by boat, but others easily accessible.
In the south of the peninsula are the Aber - calm waters of tidal inlets, which face west and are noted for their sunsets. There are many sailing schools in the area. The Aber is part of the Natural Park and is a bird sanctuary.

or 3 to 4 hrs from Dinard or Nantes
